Dear Friends,

It was a year ago that we waited together in the Turin courthouse for the verdict. I remember the tension and the nervousness; all of us hopeful but wary of what was to come. When the verdict was announced, however, we felt great joy in realizing that after so many years and so much heartache, an astounding victory had been achieved.

And now a year later, the fight goes on as the asbestos criminals refuse to acknowledge their role in the asbestos slaughter which has occurred.

The world is watching what happens in Turin today. Your struggle has become a symbol for the global fight for asbestos justice. Our thoughts and hopes are with you today and every day as you carry the torch for all asbestos victims.

È passato un anno da quando aspettavamo insieme nel tribunale di Torino che leggessero tribunale il verdetto. Mi ricordo la tensione e il nervosismo: tutti eravamo speranzosi ma timorosi di ciò che sarebbe successo.  Tuttavia,  quando è stata annunciata la sentenza abbiamo sentito una grande gioia nel renderci conto della straordinaria vittoria dopo tanti anni di fatica.

Ed adesso un anno dopo  la lotta continua mentre i criminali dell’amianto rifiutano di riconoscere il loro ruolo nella strage causata dall’amianto.

Il mondo oggi guarda cosa sta succedendo a Torino. La vostra lotta è diventata un simbolo per la lotta globale per la giustizia. I nostri pensieri e le nostre speranze sono con voi oggi e tutti i giorni in cui porterete la fiamma delle vittime.
